Anyone that gets a Pension from NY Association should be really active. Our pension funding has dropped by many %s and $$$. Ask questions from the Trustees who work for both the Union and Employers. Ask what has been happening. Don't let this happen while you remain in the dark. You will be shocked.

What if you are close to retirement? Should you think about retiring soon? A lot of nurses are in that boat (like me).

I think every nurse should check in with Pension and see where they stand. I know many nurses are supporting familys and have counted on getting money when they retire. I think some will, but many in their 30s and 40s might get a nasty shock if nothing gets done to correct this. It is all well and good to have an extra year, but at the end of that time what happens? I think that our Employers will have to pay. I also think our Union should give back to the members in the form of payments to Pension Plan to bring it back up to where it should be. We must stay alert with this.

Good advice. They had a meeting in the city but I couldn't get to it. I hope they come to the facility with more information. Maybe the staff from the pension could come to speak to us.

The nurses put the pressure on and they listened to us. The pension voted to go green- wooo hooo! Now we have a year to try to get this straight. They need to pass some laws to protect pensions. Where's the bail out for my pension? What do we do next??
